Commenting on the excellent fight scenes in new movie ‘The Raid’, Mark Kermode asked
“What’s you’re favourite fight sequence in a movie!”
It has to be Donnie Yen and Collin Chou's fight at the end of Flashpoint. It’s
simply breathtaking, and the combination of traditional and mixed martial arts
really has set the tone for future fight choreographers to follow. I cant say
I've seen a better sequence since. However, I am a fan of Alain Figlarz, the
French stuntman, fight choreographer. His work in the French sci fi 'Chrysalis' is
inspired, particularly the fight in a small bathroom between him and Albert
Dupontel. I also have a soft spot for all combat sequences in Ridley Scotts 'The Duellists'
as its on of my all time fav movies.
Ultimately though I have to go with the awesome and ground breaking 'Flashpoint.'
